We Are Blessed

Today, Bear and I are attending a Blessing of the Animals. The Episcopal Church in Shelbyville is holding our local service. I'm so excited. Many pet owners around the world take their pets for a special blessing usually held the first weekend in October, when St. Francis Assisi's feast day occurs. The blessing usually goes something like this:

“Blessed are you, Lord God, maker of all living creatures. You called forth fish in the sea, birds in the air and animals on the land. You inspired St. Francis to call all of them his brothers and sisters. We ask you to bless this pet. By the power of your love, enable it to live according to your plan. May we always praise you for all your beauty in creation. Blessed are you, Lord our God, in all your creatures! Amen.”

I'll be sure to give you all a full report. For more information on Blessing of the Animals or St. Francis of Assisi, click HERE

The rest of the weekend seems like it will be typical. Casey and I will probably go to the drive-in tonight. I'm not sure what else we'll get into. Everyone have a great weekend!

hi Cheryl! passing by to give all your 'kiddies' hugs and kisses.
My kiddies are enjoying the WAD (world animal day) by doing what they usually do, play sleep eat and be merry, ha ha.
