Post Race Wrap-Up!

I had an AWESOME race this morning!! Despite the heat, I felt great all the way through!! This past Thursday, I got to meet my child partner, Reeyan, and his family. That's when it hit me how wonderful it is being part of Team A.S.K (Athlete's for Special Kids). These families are so very appreciative of the support of Special Kids. It was truly a moving experience. I plan to race for Team Ask from here on out!! Here's some shots from this morning's race, the 7th Annual Fenton Payne & Fred 5K.

Indy Won!

A couple weeks ago, I entered a picture of Indiana in one of Nashville Paw Magazine's summer photo contests. Imagine my surprise yesterday, when I received a message that we had won!!

Photobucket

Congrats to Indiana Bones and his mom, Cheryl Richardson! They have won two free tickets to our Tailgate Festival for submitting this great pic to our summer photo contest!

We won tickets to a really cool event called the Tailgate Festival!! Here's what the event is about:

Join us on the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel rooftop to enjoy a tailgate party like no other! It’s a great way to kick off Titans football season with your pooch pals! Enjoy spectacular skyline views, live music, tailgate food, refreshing drinks, great vendors, pet adoption booths, fun contests, prizes and more!

A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit Brown Dog Foundation’s flood relief efforts.

EVENT SCHEDULE:

... 6:00-6:30: Mixer

6:30-7:30: Live music from Molding

7:30-8:00: Cover Dog Contest for Natural Nuggets Treats, sponsored by Nashville Holistic Pet

8:00-9:00: Live music from Trevor Finlay

BRING YOUR OWN BLANKET OR LAWN CHAIRS TO ENJOY THE MUSIC!

I'm not sure that I'll take Indy to the actual event. Nashville is about an hour's drive from our house, and Indy gets really car sick. So, I may have to take Jack in his place. He's a real veteran car rider!

I'm Melting!!

WOW, is it ever hot here! When I left work yesterday, the temp read 107!! I checked the weather channel, and they said the heat index was 114!!! That's just RIDICULOUS!!! I know that it gets hot out west, but it really is a dry heat. The humidity has just been awful here, along with the heat. Everything is drying up and getting crunchy. I'm not sure when I mowed my lawn last. The puppies are all restless. It's too hot to go for walks. It's too hot for them to play in their pool!! I just can't keep the water cool enough in it! It's too hot to play outside. Poor little Jack nearly hyperventilates, just going potty! I sure hope this weather breaks soon! I never planned living on the surface of the sun!!
